Must Watch Movies 2012

Almost a year ago I posted the "Must Watch Movies 2011". Some of them were a disappointment, like Transformers: Dark Of The Moon and Thor. I liked the movies Source Code, Unknown, and Battle LA somewhat. Ah, well. Hollywood tries it's best to meet the needs of movie goers.

Let's see what's in store for 2012, I few candidates for my taste always, if you're into Drama, Romance etc. you're out of luck. Sorry. Here you'll find action packed Adventures and Sci-Fi suggestions.

I will list them in an ascending order of Release Dates. So let's start.

#1
The Avengers
Release Date: 2 May 2012 (USA)
Director: Joss Whedon
Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson

"The S.H.I.E.L.D. agency brings together a team of superhumans to help save the Earth from annihilation by extraterrestrial invaders."

#2
Battleship.
Release Date: 18  May 2012 (USA)
Director: Peter Berg
Stars: Alexander Skarsgård, Brooklyn Decker and Liam Neeson

"A fleet of ships is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals."
I really wish to see a realistic alien movie were humans would loose for once. Think of it like this, an alien race capable of interstellar travel looses to a bunch of insects that still worship an imaginary deity and can't even get a manned mission to the Moon (in the 21st century). When ever I'm watching alien invasion movies, I'm trying not to think the above comment so I can enjoy watching it.

#3
The Amazing Spider-Man
Release Date: 3 July 2012 (USA)
Director: Marc Webb
Stars: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans

"Teenager Peter Parker grapples with both human problems and amazing super-human crises."
The trilogy was crap, never liked it. This is a restart of the spider man story.

#4
The Dark Knight Rises
Release Date: 20 July 2012 (USA)
Director: Christopher Nolan
Cast: Christian Bale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Gary Oldman

"The terrorist leader Bane arrives in Gotham City, and pushes its hero Batman to breaking point and beyond."
It's Nolan's Batman. What else is there to say?

#5
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Release Date: 14 December 2012 (USA)
Director: Peter Jackson
Stars: Luke Evans, Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom

There is no trailer yet, but we don't need one for this movie. (I'll post one as soon as they release it)
